Martin is a City and Guilds qualified carpenter and general builder with over 30 years of experience in site work, private residential projects, and fitted joinery. His expertise spans beyond general building trades across all aspects of the construction industry; having held previous positions as a foreman, contracts manager and domestic site manager. When he’s not at work you can usually find him around Hadleigh walking his two dogs, or on his favourite bar stool in The George!
Our SMSTS qualified commercial director and project manager brings a wealth of management experience to the M Jarrald team. Ben’s previous work in the commercial interiors industry as a London-based UK brand manager involved the delivery of high-value sites for the likes of Google, Wells Fargo and Barclays. He made the move to bespoke domestic project management in Hadleigh after the birth of his first child, happily swapping busy city living for the Suffolk countryside. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, rugby, footy and just about anything social.
Brian is a highly qualified groundworker with extensive experience in both domestic and commercial projects, having spent 20 years working on large sites across the UK before joining M Jarrald Construction in March 2019. His skillset covers a wide variety of groundwork areas, from excavation, engineered foundations, and, steel erection to major structural alterations. Brian is also fully certified in the operation of most small plant machinery, making him an invaluable asset to our core team. Outside of work, Brian can be found spending much of his time with his four-legged family members, dogs ‘Conor’ and ‘Bentley’.
Heidi has worked in accounts for over 25 years and loves her role here at M Jarrald, where she keeps the team and their work on the right track. Though working with numbers and spreadsheets is second nature to her, she enjoys taking part in some creative hobbies outside of the office. Heidi can often be found in her kitchen baking cakes – which, needless to say, are always a hit amongst the team and her family. She has 4 grown-up children, 2 stepchildren and two gorgeous grandsons.
Communications manager, Millie, plays a large role in M Jarrald Construction’s day-to-day project management and enjoys ensuring our clients and contacts are kept in the loop. She can also often be found assisting with purchase ordering. When she’s not busy in the office, much of her time is spent studying for her level 3 apprenticeship in business administration, swimming or spending quality time with her family.
Charlie was brought onboard the M Jarrald team as an apprentice bricklayer after impressing directors, Martin and Ben, during his time working as a labourer throughout the pandemic. His current role couldn’t be more different from his previous car sales job, but he couldn’t be happier with his newfound tight-knit team and the unique nature of his work. When he’s not on the job, Charlie can be found watching and supporting his team, Ipswich FC.
Michael is a highly-skilled bricklayer with many years of experience under his belt. Having previously completed a number of complex builds for nationwide contractors such as RG Carter, he took on the role of lead bricklayer at M Jarrald Construction after seeking a more local role with added responsibility, and now oversees and contributes to the bricklaying phase of our bespoke domestic builds. Off-site, Michael is a keen runner, and has completed multiple marathons for charity, including the London marathon!

Martin and his amazing team have spent the last few months refurbishing my house. They installed a new kitchen, replastered most of the walls, and converted a large bathroom into a bedroom and bathroom. Every single tradesperson sent to the house has been professional, courteous, and always left the house in a clean, tidy state. Nothing was too much trouble and I cannot recommend these guys enough.

We have been very impressed with M Jarrald. They recently finished fitting our single-storey kitchen/diner extension and we are so pleased with it. We’ve had extensive works carried out by M Jarrald Construction. Ben G has been brilliant to work with throughout the project. His team on site have been amazing. They’ve all been great fun to have around. They’ve all been polite, friendly, professional, and worked incredibly hard. Ben and Kyle did an amazing job on our new driveway and patio renovation. Tony did an absolutely incredible job with all the carpentry. The 3 of them, as well as the electricians, plasterers and plumbers, went above and beyond and worked incredibly hard. Any issues have been resolved quickly by Ben or the guys on site.
Martin and his team are absolutely fantastic! We just had our house refurbished, a large extension added on the back, bathroom remodelled and a new kitchen installed. They have been amazing from the beginning to the end! The site was always extremely tidy and the tradesmen were very professional and helpful. What is the M Jarrald Construction process?
Our simple, hassle-free process is designed to take you smoothly from initial enquiry to our first day on-site. It typically consists of:
1. A free, no-obligation consultation, during which we’ll discuss your project requirements at an overview level, creating a short brief throughout. This informal process also gives our potential clients an opportunity to get to know us as a team.
2. A home or site visit, during which we’ll discuss your project in more depth, and develop a full understanding of your requirements and plans.
3. A quote. We promise to put together a detailed quote, including a breakdown of costs, based on your architect’s drawings or plans within 2 working weeks of our visit.
4. A feedback and adjustment period. After submitting our initial quote, we will work to the best of our ability to bring our prices in line with yours, after which you’ll get a final quote.
5. The final booking. Our booking process is fast and simple, and no deposit is required to secure a date with our team.

Is there a waiting list for construction work to start?
Whilst the M Jarrald team are typically quick to start construction work, with no start-date deposit required to book, ‘wait times’ may be imposed where demand for our services is exceedingly high, or where external, uncontrollable delays may affect the pace at which our work is started (e.g. out-of-stock supplies as a result of COVID-19). Our experts will always work to ensure that your project is completed in line with the detailed timescale outlined in your quote and proposal document. This means that any factor affecting your project’s start time will have been considered and factored into your project timeline prior to sign-off.
How are payments handled and dealt with?
After your reservation with us is confirmed, a full contract, payment schedule, and a detailed programme of works with key dates of completion will be delivered. Payments for your project may be completed using the following methods:

How does M Jarrald Construction like to work with their clients and their projects?
A question we are often asked is. 'what is your building process?' It's a fair one. If you are not familiar with building projects then the process can seem daunting. This is why we follow a building process that we feel supports you from whatever stage you are at when you find us:
1. Getting to know you
The first thing we will do is have a chat, however you would prefer to do that. We can discuss this over the phone, by email or on our social media messenger. This is for us to get to know each other and for you to ask any questions about us you might have.
2. Getting to know your project
The next step is to discuss your building project in depth. The best way to do this is usually a visit to your home or the building site where you want to carry out works. If this is not possible we can in some instances work from pictures and a set of architect's drawings. If you do not have architect's drawings or need planning permission, we can introduce you to one of our local and recommended architects.
3. Getting you a quote
From a combination of your building plans, photos and/or a site visit, we will produce you a fully detailed quote usually within 2 working weeks. If for any reason we are unable to keep to this timescale we will let you know. Your quote will include a full scope of building works and a breakdown of costs to the nearest light switch, so you can see exactly where your money is being spent.
4. Getting your feedback
Now that you have had your quote it's time for another chat. Budgets are an important part of the building process and we will work to the best of our ability to bring our prices in line with yours. This part of the process is about engineering the project so that you get what you want, for the budget you have available.
5. Getting Started
If you accept our quote and appoint us for your build you will receive a contract from us with our terms and conditions, a payment schedule, and a full programme of works with key dates of completion. We do not take deposits to secure start dates and the first payment will be due after the project has started. Once everything is agreed we will set a date to start works.
